Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective Date: October 2026 · Service Provider: ChoreMatrix

1. Product Provider & Merchant of Record Disclosure

ChoreMatrix is the software product provider. All subscription orders, payments, and billing for ChoreMatrix are processed and fulfilled by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments ("Dodo").

Merchant of Record Notice: Our order process is conducted by Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Dodo handles all payment processing, invoicing, sales tax compliance, billing customer service inquiries, and returns.

2. 7-Day Free Trial & Trial Cancellation

ChoreMatrix offers a 7-day introductory free trial on paid subscription tiers (Pro and Plus) for eligible new accounts.

  • Zero Charge During Trial: A valid payment method is collected at checkout to authorize continuous service, but USD $0.00 is charged on Day 1.
  • Preventing Future Renewal: You may cancel your trial online anytime before the 7 days expire via your Account Settings page. Upon cancellation, your subscription is immediately cancelled and no recurring charge will occur.
  • No Monetary Refund on Free Trial: Because trial access is provided at $0.00, no monetary charge occurred and no automatic monetary refund is issued upon trial cancellation.
  • Technical Billing Inquiries: If an unintended or premature charge occurs during the 7-day trial period due to technical issues, ChoreMatrix and Dodo Payments will process a full refund upon verification.

3. Post-Trial Subscription Refund Terms

After the 7-day trial period concludes and a recurring subscription payment is successfully processed, subscription payments are generally non-refundable as immediate digital access to paid features (including 4-week rotational planning, soft preferences, and ad-free workspace) is delivered for the active billing period. Canceling an active subscription stops future automatic renewal charges starting from the subsequent billing period.

Preservation of Mandatory Statutory Rights: Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights under applicable local laws. Post-trial refund requests are evaluated fairly and are not automatically excluded in all cases. Refunds or billing adjustments may be issued under the following circumstances:

  • Where required by applicable mandatory statutory consumer protection laws (including EU/UK statutory withdrawal or cooling-off rights where applicable).
  • Verified technical billing errors or accidental duplicate payment charges.
  • Service non-delivery or unresolvable technical issues preventing service access.
  • Any case specifically approved by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record or by ChoreMatrix Customer Support.

4. How to Cancel Your Subscription

We make subscription management transparent and barrier-free. You do not need to call or submit manual tickets to cancel:

  • Go to Account Settings while signed in.
